Spent the AM at lowers and the Boost Mobile Pro. This is the view looking in.
Dane Reynolds a wildcard in the event went up against #2 in the world Taj B. and won hands down. A great heat.
I had a plan to surf before the contest which you might think as crazy. But the way I looked at was you get to park in the close lot and maybe the contest keep people out of the water. My plan worked got plenty of waves and was first hand on some fine surfing.

Combo swell fair conditions and good times if you got the right waves.
After I would ride a wave I would paddle out and shoot a few shots. Boards were flying around.

Nice sweeping cutback. Most common board choice was the small squash tails. Tri fins. I know I was the only one out on a five fin.
Nice peaks most of the AM. Sun was out and water was cold. The air was cold as well at sun up.

S. Garcia fresh out of jail on house arrest. Was given permission to surf by the courts. He was entered as one of the four wildcards. He went down to Andy Irons in heat one.
The lefts were the waves that were getting the highest scores.
Jordy Smith took down Joel P. in a great heat 3 today. If you get a chance go check out the surfing. Its worth the time.
