Projection off the rail.

The Hull offers a unique feeling not matched by any other board I have ridden. The board above is a 6'-6"shaped by Greg Liddle. One item to me that always stands out is the bottom turn and the projection off the rail. The feel and speed generated is addictive. Sure the board really excells in good point conditions but can also turn an average small beach break session into loads of fun.

yep, hulls should definitely not be underestimated at beach breaks. in fact, because of my hull, i've had some beach break sessions elevated to magic that would probably have been ho-hum on any other board.

The ho-hum to magig is very well put. And my shortest hull is 6'0 but you lose a little of the magic unless the surf really turns on. If you read some of Greg Liddles thoughts on the matter he goes into detail on length of board and its impact on the design. I think somewhere in the area of 7'0 is a good starting point. Of corse you have to take into account your own height and weight and adjust from there.

surfed with Kyle in SB - and another guy from San Clemente, tried to get some pix off but ended up getting nothing like yours here - shoot

i've read those notes on GL's site and believe board height swell and tide all can make something really work that in different conditions produce runny oatmeal

that 6'6" looks like a whole lot of fun
