Your Voice Count

There is an interesting pictorial on Surfline regarding the proposed Toll road. Also on Wed Feb 6Th there is a meeting in Del Mar which could decide the fate of the area. You can get the specifics on the Save Trestles Blog which can be directed from the Check Um location on this page. I strongly recommend that you all spread the word to attend the meeting and make "Your Voice Count" Surf On Jdub

Clear the air

Lots of rain to "Clear the Air" Mew growth on the local hills. When I was growing up in these part there were lots of cows grazing the Irvine Co land.

South east wind swell. Have to find the protected spots if you want to surf.

Started the day checking out the novelties. Just not quite doing it .

SW Windswell

The "SW Windswell" is a trickey one to catch. Most of the time there is only a small window before the size drops and the wind switches. There are a few spots that are worth it somtimes and others you just dont look at. But when you have not surfed for awhile you learn to appriciate the opportunities.

Just got back from a three day work related trip. The drive home was interesting due to the snow at very low elevations. I guess I did not miss much surf .

All about the Glide

Super clean conditions and empty small south ones. Nice and cold which is good to keep the masses down.

Like to surf off the jetty on days like these. Seems to help focus what little swell there is.

Tide dropped out quick and offered some tip takeoffs untill it shut down.

It pays to have a long spear in your quiver. Its "All about the Glide" 10'-6" glider shaped by Chris C. This is one of those boards that I dont ride much but I will never get rid of it because of days like these. It always works in big and small waves. One of my favorite boards.Below is a quick clip of the orange spear.
