Vantage points

The pier is one of my favorite "Vantage Points" to start the day. Its a good place to get a idea on the swell direction and conditions or just catch a killer sunrise. Some times you have to move on in search of waves but today decided to get some of the wind swell next to the pier. Rode my DT log and had some really fun waves.

Morgan on a smooth right.

When I checked the surf early Eric V was already out getting some fun ones. Got me moving quicker.

The Kids are Alright

Pretty Am with a mix of clouds , sun and glassy conditions.

Small Olas today compared to the last week or so, Went out for only an hour on my 9'8" log Decided to rest the bones and let the kids have fun.

Its cool to see the young guys riding logs so well. Taylor in high school showing some tip skills ahead of his age.

Nice 10

I call this kid Action Jackson. He just started surfing this year. Its cool to see the kids that have that stoke. Next he will be ditching school just to get some waves. "The Kids are Alright"

Time off fun

The time between Christmas and New Years is always a slow time at work which is OK with me. It allows time to surf with no restrictions. It seems every year at this time the surf is always good. Today was no exception giving us some "Time off Fun"

Beautiful sunrise. Just real cold.

The waves in the early Am had a nice tide and some fast hollow ones.

Mikey Pells getting some fins out on his fish.

The cold kept it empty for awhile

Eric V on his quad.

Dano on the tip
Yes some fun bonzer waves today. Nice and hollow.

Eventually the crowds came out but there were still some nice ones

As the tide got high the waves got fun for logging.

Cold Winter Offshores

Good day of surf today. Started out slow with the wind onshore and just windswell peaks. Then the wind switched to a "Cold Winter Offshore" and the waves picked up with the tide push.

Eric V on a backhand one before the wind switched.

Peaks up and down the beach.

Alex

I liked this shot due to the angle. to bad it is way out of focus. It was way to cold to shoot from the water.

Two long sessions, Two 4/3 wetsuits, three boards, and a super good time. Ended up riding a old mid length shaped by Greg Giddings back about 10 years ago. As the tide dropped this board was the ticket. A big delaminated bubble in the nose from the car dash still does not slow this one down.

The Day After

A few photos sent to me from Bill at NBsurfers.blogspot.

"The Day After" Christmas. Searched for some good waves just to tired to get completely into it. The offshores were gone and so was my drive. Checked out my little reef break but just not right.

Ended up surfing some high tide ones. Had fun but wanted some hollow ones like Christmas day.

Rode my 7'9" Andeini and my longboard. Go home and recharge the batteries.

This right was super fun going towards the pier at high tide. Like a fish bowl effect.

This guy was on a 70's style shortboard with a hood and had a unreal style. He had a nice shortboard cross step.

Rode my 9'0 DT log and then my 7'9" Andreini shown above.

The end of the session we were greeted by the Santa Clause Harley crew.
